Assembling 3D-Printed Objects Without Vision: Challenges, Strategies, and Opportunities

First-Author @ CHI 2025 Late Breaking Work

As the first author, I designed and conducted research on 3D-printed resources and assembly instructions for Blind and Low-Vision (BLV) individuals.

After obtaining IRB approval, I collaborated with the Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Palo Alto to recruit participants and led six co-design sessions with BLV individuals. Through qualitative analysis of the collected data, I developed design guidelines to inform the future creation of accessible 3D-printed materials.

This work was completed under the guidance of

Dr. Danyang Fan (Ph.D. Mentor) and Prof. Sean Follmer

at Stanford SHAPE Lab, whose feedback and support

were invaluable.
